Casino Games:
BLACKJACK

BlackJack is one of the most popular casino games today. Everyone plays against the dealer. The dealer gives each player two cards. The dealer also gets two cards: one face down, and the other face up. The object is to draw cards that total 21, or as close to 21 as possible without going over (busting). Ten, Jack, Queen and King count as ten. Aces count either as one or eleven, depending on the player's choice for each hand. Other cards play at their face value. If the player receives an ace and a ten-value card as his or her first two cards, the player has "BlackJack" and will win one and one-half times his or her bet, unless the dealer also has BlackJack. This applies to all Blackjack games except 6 to 5 single deck Blackjack. If the dealer has BlackJack as well, it is a tie. Depending on the Blackjack game, the house either hits or stands on soft 17.

If the player hits and his or her total is more than 21, then the player has busted and loses. If the player does not go over 21 and the dealer does, the player wins.

These simple key rules will help in play:

  • If the player's total is closer to 21 than the dealer's total, the player wins.
  • If the player hits and his or her total is more than 21, the player loses.
  • If the player and the dealer have the same total, it is a tie.

Game of Blackjack

Blackjack is the most popular table game in casinos. The house advantage is only 0.5 percent. That means if you play basic blackjack strategy, the casino will win only 0.5 percent of your money over time. The game of Blackjack is played with a standard fifty-two-card deck. A casino game of blackjack can be played with one, two, four, or even eight decks. It's easier for players to count cards (that is, keep track of the cards that have been played) when there are fewer decks in use.

Player and the dealer are each dealt two cards.

The object is  to draw cards that total 21, or come closer to 21 than the cards held by the dealer without going over the number(21).

The hand that gets closer to twenty-one without going over wins the bet. In blackjack, you are competing only against the dealer, not against the other players.

The dealer's first card faces up, the second faces down.

Cards Value
An Ace can count as either 1 or 11.
The 10, Jack, Queen, and King are all valued at 10.
All cards from 2 through 9 are face valued.
Cards Suits are not consider in Blackjack.

If you have a Blackjack, show the hand immediately and the dealer will pay you one and 1/2 times your bet. Dealer also has a Blackjack, the hand is a tie (push),
If you do not have a Blackjack, you can ask the dealer to hit you, To indicate that you want to hit, scrape the cards across the table as if you were dragging something towards you. You may draw as many cards as you like only one at a time.  If you go over 21, you "bust" and  lose the hand. At that point, you must return your cards face up on the table immediately. If you do not want to be hit, you may stand by sliding your cards face down under your bet or wave your hand over the table. After all players are satisfied with their hands, the dealer will then turn his down card face up and stand or draw as necessary.

Dealer must draw to any count up to 16, and stand on 17.

Casinos rules will vary some will allow you to hold your cards and others will only
deal the game face up and not allow you to touch the cards.
