Baccarat is one of the easiest casino games to learn
to play and can be enjoyed by everyone. You have three
betting options in Baccarat. You can bet that the
Player's hand will win, that the Banker's hand will
win, or that both hands will tie.
A total of four cards are initially dealt out of
a shoe by the dealer or a player in the game. The
first and third cards are the Player's hand and
the second and fourth are the Banker's hand. The
Player's hand will be left face down and delivered
to the player in the game with the highest wager
on the Player's hand. The Banker's hand will be
left face down under a corner of the shoe until
the Player's hand is exposed, returned to the center
of the table and placed in the area designated as
PLAYER. The Banker's hand will then be exposed and
placed in the area designated as BANKER. Once the
initial cards are in place, the dealer announces
the totals for each hand, and additional cards are
then drawn in accordance with the rules; a maximum
of one hit card per hand may be drawn. (The fixed
rules of Baccarat never allow for a player to make
a hit or stand decision.) Once the outcome of the
hand has been decided, the dealer will pick up all
losing bets and then pay all winning bets.
If you win with a bet on either the Banker's or
the Player's hand, your bet will be paid even money.
If you win with a bet on the Banker's hand, you
will be charged a 5% commission on your winnings.
If both hands tie neither hand wins or loses, and
all bets made on the tie win. A tie bet is paid
at 9 for 1 odds.
The object of Baccarat is to bet on which hand will
have the highest value. The highest hand in Baccarat
is 9 and the lowest is 0. Tens, Jacks, Queens and
Kings are counted as zero, an ace counts as one
and all other cards count their face value. When
totaling the cards on each hand, only the right-hand
number of the total figure is used to determine
the hand's value.
EXAMPLE: 7 + 8 = 15 K + 5 + 6 = 11

(Bah-Kah-Rah) is played with 8 decks of cards. The
cards are shuffled by the dealer and placed in a
box called a shoe.
Player
can keep the shoe as long as the bank hand wins
Mini-Baccarat the dealer controls the shoe
at all times.
When the bank hand loses, the shoe moves to the
next player on the right.
Bets
There are three types of bets:
Player hand
Banker hand
Tie bet.
Cards
Both the Player and Banker are dealt two cards each.
All tens and picture cards are worth zero.
Aces are worth 1.
All other cards are worth their face value.
If the value of cards exceeds 9, the value
is then adjusted by subtracting 10 from the total.
The player with the highest wager on the player's
side faces (turns up) the player's hand. If the
rules call for a third card to be dealt, either
or both hands must take the third card.
Example:
Hands:
9+7=16
Hand totals 6
5+5+5=15
Hand totals 5
10+9=19
Hand is a "natural" 9
Payoffs
Bets are paid on even money, and the house collects
a 5% commission on all winning bank bets.
Tie bet wagers are paid 8 to 1
Third Card Draw
A third additional card may be dealt.
All additional cards are subject to a third card
rule. No hand will receive more than three cards.
When the Player and Banker hands equal the same
total, the hand is a Tie.
Third Card Rules
If the Player's two cards total:
0-5 Player Hand must Draw
6-7 Player Hand must Stand
8-9 "Natural" (both hands Stand)
After the Player's Hand acts on a third card draw,
the Banker's Hand receives a third card according
to these rules:
0-2 Banker Hand Must draw
3-6 Third card to Player Hand determines
draw or stand
7 Banker Hand must stand
When the Banker's two cards total 3-6:
